How to Find Stronghold Keycards in DMZ COD

Unlock your way through the DMZ.

If you’ve jumped into the Warzone 2 DMZ lately, you’ve likely run into a Stronghold that you couldn’t access. These buildings are marked with fortress symbols and typically contain some decent loot guarded by stronger enemies. But you can’t get in without a Stronghold Keycard in your backpack.

When you try to get through the locked door though, there is no obvious way to get in aside from the “Stronghold Keycard” prompt. Luckily, there are a couple of ways to get your hands on a key in the DMZ. In this guide, we’ll go over how to get a key and how the drop rates work.

COD DMZ – How to Find Stronghold Keycards

Stronghold Keycards can be found by purchasing them or taking out AQ Guards around the DMZ. The easier method of the two options is to go around the map taking out any guards you see. As you get closer to Strongholds and find more AQ guards, you’ll have a higher chance of finding a key. Any time you take down a guard, they have a chance to drop a key as loot. They are highlighted in yellow and will take a bag slot.

These keys have an entirely random drop rate, so you’ll have to simply keep taking down guards until a key appears. You also can’t take a Stronghold Keycard back to your stash, so the same process needs to be repeated in any DMZ match where you want to enter these areas.

If this random grind isn’t for you, the other option is to farm some cash. Stronghold Keys can be purchased at Buy Stations for $5,000. However, not every station will have a key for purchase. Just like the guards, there is some chance involved when looking for a key. The good news is that many Buys Stations will have what you need, so searching won’t take long.

One more method exists, but it’s the most difficult and the least reliable. Taking out other enemy players can get you to the Keycard you’re looking for, but they have to own one in the first place. Even if they have one, you still need to win the fight. But if you pull it off, that’s one more easy keycard in the Warzone 2 DMZ match.
