How to Fix Latency Issues in Warzone 2

How to get your connection back to a healthy spot.

Warzone 2.0 was released recently, and there are a ton of players jumping in to experience all it has to offer. If not for its standard battle royale mode and the immense changes that came with it, then for its new DMZ mode, which tasks you and up to two teammates to loot a region and extract without dying. Before you can enjoy any of that though, you need to make sure your ping is stable so you don’t die to unforeseen circumstances. Here’s how to fix latency issues in Warzone 2.0.

How to Fix Ping Issues in Warzone 2.0

Before we jump into the potential fixes, there’s one important thing to note. With it being so close to launch and all, there are a lot of players hopping in wanting to see what’s new. That puts a ton of stress on the servers, meaning ping issues could very well come up. That doesn’t mean it’s the guaranteed culprit per se, but it’s worth noting if none of these fixes resolve the issue. With that out of the way, onto the fixes themselves.

The first thing you’ll want to do is give both your platform of choice and your router a full reboot. This will rule out any potential startup issues with either, and give you a clean slate to work with on your network. The next thing you can try is to ensure no background processes are taking up your network. Particularly for PC, this can be done through the Task Manager, seeing if anything else is hogging the Network side of things. Another potential fix involves ensuring you’re on dedicated servers in your region. Being on other servers in different regions by accident can increase ping by quite a lot.

While none of these fixes are guaranteed to work, doing them should help ensure it’s not your end. It’d also be worth testing your ping in other online games and seeing if you have latency issues outside of Warzone 2.0.
