Pokémon GO Halloween – Mysterious Masks Research Rewards

While the tricks are lacking, treats are in full swing for the 2022 Halloween event in Pokémon GO. Not only did Niantic change the entire theme of the in-game map to match the event, but there are plenty of Special Research tasks to take on under the name of Mysterious Masks.

Most major events in Pokémon GO bring a Special Research story and some Timed Research that can be completed before the fun comes to an end. Unlike the Yamask Timed research, you’ll have an indefinite amount of time to complete the Mysterious Masks Special Research. However, you’ll want to take full advantage of the Halloween spawns, and in this guide, we’ll go over all of the challenge rewards you can earn.

Mysterious Masks Special Research Rewards in Pokémon GO

Unlike the Yamask Timed Research included with the Pokémon GO Halloween 2022 Event Ticket, the Mysterious Masks Special Research story is available to everyone for free. As long as you sign into the game before the event ends in early November, you’ll have four steps in the research that you can complete with full rewards. All of the quest steps and their treats are listed below.

Mysterious Masks 1/4:

• Catch 40 Ghost-type Pokémon – 1,313 Stardust
• Make 9 Curveball Throws – Yamask Encounter
• Make 49 Nice Throws – 9 Ultra Balls
• Rewards: Galarian Yamask Encounter, 490 Stardust, 4,900 XP

Mysterious Masks 2/4:

• Catch 40 Ghost-type Pokémon – 1,313 Stardust
• Earn 9 Hearts with your Buddy – Yamask Encounter
• Send 13 Gifts to friends – 40 Great Balls
• Rewards: Galarian Yamask Encounter, 490 Stardust, 4,900 XP

Mysterious Masks 3/4:

• Catch 40 Ghost-type Pokémon – 1,313 Stardust
• Catch 9 different species of Ghost-type Pokémon – Yamask Encounter
• Use 49 Berries to help catch Pokémon – 49 Poké Balls
• Rewards: Galarian Yamask Encounter, 490 Stardust, 4,900 XP

Mysterious Masks 4/4:

• Claim Reward – 49 XP
• Claim Reward – 490 XP
• Claim Reward – 4,900 XP
• Rewards: Galarian Yamask Encounter, 49 Yamask Candy, 490 Stardust

Most of these challenges can be completed at the same time as the Timed Research, so make sure to take advantage of the Pokémon GO Halloween event and earn your own Runerigus.
