FromSoftware has scored a massive win with Elden Ring. All around the world, players are diving into the game and learning to love its stuff challenge and open world. In Elden Ring, players explore a world on the edge of disaster and must overcome immense obstacles to become the Elden Lord and decide the fate of existence.
Where does Elden Ring take place?
Elden Ring is set in a world called The Lands Between. The Lands Between is broken into six main regions, each ruled by a demigod. The world is also blessed by two powerful entities, the Elden Ring and the Erdtree. The Erdtree is a massive golden tree that grows above the Lands Between, and it draws power from the Elden Ring to bless the inhabitants of The Lands Between with its grace.
Unfortunately, the Elden Ring was shattered, and a subsequent war broke out between the regions and inhabitants of the Lands Between. The shared of the Elden Ring fell into the hands of the children of Queen Marika, the ruler of the Lands Between. The shards, known as Great Runes, gave these beings the power of demigods and elevated them above all others.
Tarnished, such as the character the player controls, lost the grace of the Erdtree and were exiled from The Lands Between. After The Shattering, they were called back and found themselves on a journey attempting to return lost grace to the world.
