The team also announced it will be the first and only expansion that Outer Wilds will receive. A trailer for the expansion can be seen below. It shows all sorts of new and cryptic teases of what’s going to be there for players to explore and discover.

The expansion will launch on September 28 and a version of the game will be coming to Nintendo Switch this holiday. The Nintendo Switch version was originally slated for this summer but received a slight delay during the showcase.

If you’re interested in more of the Outer Wilds, you can check out the interview we did with the composer of the game, Andrew Prahlow.

If you haven’t played Outer Wilds before and want to get caught up before this expansion releases, it can be found on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. We recommend going in without looking anything up, as the joy of this game is found in the discoveries you make along the way.
