Following the release of two brand new teaser trailers, it was revealed that Rainbow Six Quarantine has officially been renamed to Rainbow Six Extraction. The title change isn’t entirely surprising given everything that’s happened over the last year and a half, but it is an interesting development for those who’ve been eagerly awaiting updates regarding the game.
Rainbow Six Quarantine Renamed to Rainbow Six Extraction
Rainbow Six fans were treated to two new teaser trailers for Rainbow Six Quarantine, with one formally revealing the game’s new name as Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction.
Starting with the name change trailer (seen above), the “Dev Team Title Reveal” keeps things brief, confirming the new name, talking a bit about the heart of the game’s experience, and touching upon the vision for the game that Ubisoft Montreal has.
“Operators uniting against a common enemy, learning about the parasite, how to overcome it, and protecting each other every step of the way,” explains Antoine Vimal du Monteil in the trailer.
Following Monteil is the Creative Director, Patrick Methe, who gives a fantastic summary of what gamers can expect from Rainbow Six Extraction, along with a tie-in between gameplay and the game’s “Extraction” title.
“We took the strong foundations of Rainbow Six Siege and crafted a modern tactical co-op shooter where you’ll be facing an always-evolving alien threat. You’ll have plenty of different challenges to overcome, but will always have one goal in mind… making sure no one gets left behind,” notes Menthe.
“It will be up to you and your squad to decide when to push forward, or when to extract. As you will soon discover, extraction is truly the name of the game.”
The video ends with Community Developer, Richard Stanford, telling fans to tune in to the Ubisoft Forward stream on Saturday, June 12, at 12:00 p.m. (PD) for a gameplay premiere of Rainbow Six Extraction and a deep dive on what to expect from the game.
The other new trailer for Rainbow Six Extraction is called “Sprawl Teaser” (seen below) gives viewers a feel for the general vibe of the game. It doesn’t reveal anything specific, but it does have an ominous feel to it where you can’t help but be curious and want to see more.
Fortunately, you won’t have to wait too much longer to do that as previously mentioned, Rainbow Six Extraction will have a gameplay premiere and deep dive at this year’s Ubisoft Forward on June 12.
