CD Projekt Red Apologizes For PS4 & Xbox One Performance of Cyberpunk 2077, Offers Refunds & Update

After multiple delays of Cyberpunk 2077 this year, it seemed that the game might not be in a great state, and it turns out it certainly needed more time in the oven.

This morning, CD Projekt Red put out a statement addressing the game’s current state and what players should expect from it going forward. You can read that statement below.

“First of all, we would like to start by apologizing to you for not showing the game on base last-gen consoles before it premiered and, in consequence, not allowing you to make a more informed decision about your purchase. We should have paid more attention to making it play better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.”

A large chunk of the player base for this game is experiencing Cyberpunk 2077 on these consoles, and it simply just isn’t performing. Players paid $60 for a product and are rightfully disappointed by how it runs.

In the statement, CD Projekt Red also stated that it will be releasing a small patch within the next seven days, as well as two larger patches, one in January and the next in February. These patches should fix a large number of issues with how the game runs on last-gen consoles.

The next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077 are still slated for 2021, but no additional information was given on the state of those versions.

Finally, CD Projekt Red is offering players a full refund for the game’s console versions, which you need to either go through the PSN or Xbox store if you bought them digitally or through the retailer you purchased it from.

CD Projekt Red states that if players have any trouble doing that, you can contact them directly at [email protected].
