This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

In June, Bungie kicked off the Season of Arrivals with a new Dungeon that players can work their way through to earn all kinds of high-tier rewards. The Destiny 2 Prophecy Dungeon is the third Dungeon in the game and can be a bit of a chore if you don’t know what to do and how to work some specific mechanics work. So, here’s a guide on how to beat the Prophecy Dungeon in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 Prophecy Dungeon Walkthrough Guide

To begin the Prophecy Dungeon, players will need 1,040 Light to give the dungeon a go and can access it through the Tower directory. There are seven sections to this dungeon that players will need to work their way through the dungeon to earn all kinds of rewards. In the list below, you’ll find all seven sections of the Prophecy Dungeon:

  • Light/Dark Motes
  • Phalanx Taken Boss
  • The Wasteland Part 1
  • The Cube
  • The Wasteland Part 2
  • Ribbon Road
  • Kell Echo Boss

The first area in the Prophecy Dungeon will require players to collect five Motes of Light and five Motes of Darkness to clear the two pillars. To get an enemy to drop either Light or Dark motes, you’ll need to kill them in the literal light or darkness. When you have the motes, simply go to the pillars and drop them off. It’s important to note here that if you have Light motes and then pick up Dark motes, you’ll lose the Light motes. So make sure you’re delivering all five to one pillar before starting on the next one. After you’ve dropped off five of the corresponding motes in each pillar, you’ll clear the first area.

If you need any help with the Prophecy Dungeon, we’ve got a great video guide that will take you step by step through the whole thing!

Next, you’ll encounter the Phalanx Taken boss, who happens to be protected by four shields. Similar to the last area, you’ll find two Light and two Darkness pillars that you’ll need to deliver motes to in order to take down the bosses shield. The process works in the same way as the beginning area of the Destiny 2 Prophecy Dungeon and once you’ve delivered a total of 20 motes to the four pillars, you can begin damaging the Phalanx Taken boss.

With the boss dead, your Fireteam will sink into the sand and head into the Wasteland. For this section of the Prophecy Dungeon, you’re going to need to track down a few Toland wisps. Hop on your sparrow and ride around the Wasteland until you see a group of enemies surrounding a ring. Defeat the Taken Blights and then a wisp will appear underneath the ring. Jump on the Toland wisp and it will take off somewhere else. Follow it with your team and repeat the process. Eventually, you’ll see a message that says “The Way is Open.” When you get this message, look for a giant purple light pillar in the distance and go towards it. When you get close, you’ll see that there is a doorway that you can go through to get to the next area.

This part is a bit confusing and is going to be a little tricky to explain. But basically, you and your team will now be on a directionally challenged cube. It’ll take a minute to get the hang of it, but essentially up is now down, down is now up, etc. Similar to the other areas, players will need to collect Light and Dark motes and deliver them to the pillar on the same side of the cube as the Toland wisp via the portals. Rinse and repeat this method six times by following the Toland wisp around the cube and you’ll eventually have cleared all sides. Now you’ll need to defeat two Centurion Echos and then you can move on to the next part of the Destiny 2 Prophecy Dungeon.

After exiting the Centurion Echoes battle, you’ll find yourself back in the Wasteland. This time, you’ll need to follow the enemies that are shooting at you to another doorway. This part is pretty simple, just defeat them, follow them, defeat them, follow them, etc. until you reach the next area.

After heading through the doorway, you’ll find yourself on a bunch of tiny ribbons that form a winding road of sorts. Hop on your Sparrow and ride down the road, or hop along the platforms if you’re not a good driver, and eventually you’ll reach the end of the road and will be taken to the final boss area.

Congrats! You’ve made it to the final area of the Destiny 2 Prophecy Dungeon–unfortunately, it’s a bit of a doozy. The first area is a triangle room of sorts with an enemy shooting at you from each corner of the room. To defeat them, you’ll need to destroy the Light or Dark pillar closest to the enemy. Clear the minibosses and the Ogres that spawn after them and you’ll be able to deal damage to the big boss.

In this area, you’ll need to stay close to Kell Echo and make sure the Dark Entropy debuff doesn’t get to x10 (seen in the bottom left corner of your screen.) If it hits 10, you’ll die. To keep the Dark Entropy from going up, stay close to Kell Echo. If you get too far away, the number will go up. However, you’ll need to be really careful and methodical because you can easily die while chasing the boss, as his hits are quite powerful. Eventually, Kell Echo will teleport out of the room and when he disappears, you have to go to a different triangle room and will have to rinse and repeat this sequence over and over again until you deal enough damage to kill the Kell Echo enemy.

Eventually, you’ll take down the boss, have beaten the Destiny 2 Prophecy Dungeon, and will be able to get some pretty sweet rewards before you call it a day.
