Borderlands 3 is set to see the release of its third DLC, Bounty of Blood, this June. Whether you’re reading this ahead of launch or after it’s already launched, you may be wondering if there is a new max level cap with the Bounty of Blood DLC. In this guide, we are going to take a look at the new DLC and see what kind of changes it’ll be making to the level cap.

Is There a New Max Level Cap in Borderlands 3: Bounty of Blood?

Starting on June 25, the Borderlands 3 max level cap will be increased from 57 to 60 with the new Bounty of Blood DLC. This will be the third cap increase for the game, with the original max level starting off at 50. Over the course of new events and DLCs, the level cap has slowly been increased as new items and weapons were introduced to the game.

While this may come as exciting news to some, others may be disappointed to hear that the level cap is being increased once again. Specifically, if you’ve worked hard to collect a high-tier loadout filled with top-level weapons, you’re going to have to begin the process all over again to reach Level 60 gear. However, if you’ve yet to fill your inventory with Level 57 items, then you’ll be in good shape for Bounty of Blood.

If you’re not familiar with the latest DLC, it will take players to a new planet named Gehenna, which is home to genetically modified beasts and the Devil Riders gang. Players will get to experience an all-new campaign mission and side quests, along with a few new weapons and vehicles. For example, there is a new vehicle called the Jetbeast, which seems to be a flying motorcycle of sorts.

Further, the Borderlands 3: Bounty of Blood DLC will include a cool feature that will allow newer players who haven’t made it far enough in the main story to unlock Sanctuary III to create a new Vault Hunter that will be level-boosted enough to play the DLC. Further, all enemies (and rewards) on Gehenna will be scaled to your level, so you won’t have to worry about fighting unnecessarily difficult enemies.

Players that own the Borderlands 3 Super Deluxe Edition or the Season Pass will be able to access the Bounty of Blood DLC for free. The DLC can also be purchased separately for $15. Unlike the previous DLCs, Bounty of Blood will not involve any characters from the original game and will tell a completely new story.
