New Cyberpunk 2077 Clip Is Giving Us Major Mad Max Vibes

Like Mad Max? Excited for Cyberpunk 2077? Then boy do we have the gameplay footage for you; meet the Reaver!
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Only a few months until we can dive into Night City and assume the role of V, but until then – we’ve got a new Cyberpunk 2077 clip that shows off a badass vehicle that is giving us some major Mad Max vibes.

CD Projekt RED took to the game’s official Twitter account to drop a new, small, clip about the Reaver vehicle. According to the studio, the Reaver is “a custom-built Wraith vehicle based on Quadra Type-6 car. With its near 1000 horsepower, you will ride eternal, shiny, and chrome.” The caption ended with a congratulatory nod to the Mad Max film’s 5th anniversary, which means it wasn’t just wishful thinking in all of our heads about the aesthetic relation.

Very cool and very Mad Max-ish. Looking forward to tearing up the road (and non-road) in this.

The background was also a quick notice for fans, noticing for the first time the badlands-inspired area that the studio confirmed is in-game footage in the responding thread. We knew about some of the areas players could go in-game, but everything thus far was city-driven and hidden away in the slums. This is the first time we’ve gotten a glimpse at anything outside of those city limits, which has us aching more a much wider preview of what the tease is here.

Microsoft has a few surprise plans in store for fans next month with a confirmed showcase in July. We’ll be learning more about the game in the coming months, but you can catch up on everything thus far with our handy-dandy Cyberpunk 2077 hub right here.

As for the game itself, Cyberpunk 2077 launches on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on September 17, 2020 pending no further delays due to COVID-19.
