Cyberpunk 2077 Still Set For September Release, Confirms Studio

Don't worry, it looks like the team over at CD Projekt RED are still on-track for Cyberpunk 2077's September release.

CD Projekt RED fans were devastated when the news that Cyberpunk 2077 was being pushed back to September first hit but with the continued spread of COVID-19 delaying many projects currently, worries began to rise about another possible pushback. Luckily for those eager to jump into the shoes of V while prowling Night City, the studio has confirmed that despite the quarantines, they are still on track for their September launch.

The team that gave us the thrilling Witcher saga confirmed recently that they are still working diligently to get everything ready to roll come November, despite the entire team being moved into remote-work status. While many games have been negatively impacted, most notably the indefinite delay of The Last of Us Part II, others have found solutions that work for their dynamic when it comes to hitting that end date.

“There is no shortage of motivation and we also possess all the tools needed to facilitate remote work. We’ve been operating in this mode for over three weeks and to-date results confirm that we can carry on with all our operations without major disruptions,” CD Projekt Group president and CEO Adam KiciÅ„ski said in a recent 2019 reflection post. “Our plans haven’t changed—we’re steaming towards the September release of Cyberpunk.”

While this is good news, that doesn’t mean we’re in the clear quite yet. As the CDC warns that we are in the most critical time of containing the continued spread of the virus, many areas are still seeing crowded beaches, parks, and other recreational entertainment venues despite all of the warnings. As long as this isn’t contained, daily life will continue to be disrupted, meaning delays are a bigger reality than ever before across all industries – not just gaming.

As for the game itself, Cyberpunk 2077 is still slated for a September 17, 2020 release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. You can catch up on all of the latest news, cosplay, and other neat happenings going on in Night City with our compiled game hub here.
