The PS5 is right around the corner and PlayStation is looking for the best of the best to join their crew. One of their latest additions includes former Microsoft sales lead, Veronica Rogers, as the Vice President of Business Operations that will be intricate to the launch, and successful sales of, the PlayStation 5.
Rogers’ previous experience includes 20 years at Microsoft and Dell. Given that both brands are two of the biggest competitors to Sony and their gaming space, it’s an interesting move for Rogers and a strategic one for Sony. “The PlayStation brand is one of the most beloved in the world and I am excited to join a company that has such a passionate community, legendary history, and an amazing leadership team,” said Rogers in a statement to GameIndustry.biz. “My experience leading global sales organizations will help excel the PlayStation business and deliver the best gaming experiences to fans across the world.”
There have been quite a few shakeups in leadership over the past year as the PlayStation camp withdrew from a lot of public scrutiny with events like the Video Game Awards, E3, and their own PlayStation Experience celebration. Instead, the team took some time away to focus on the new generation ahead, including making changes to their core system to better grow with the flow of the industry as seen with their relenting to Cross-Play and rumors of backwards compatibility within the PS5.
Rogers has proved to be a powerful asset with her previous teams and we’re excited to see where she goes from here when working towards the PlayStation 5 and beyond.
