Bulletstorm is being developed by People Can Fly, an Epic Games-owned company, who made Painkiller and the PC version of Gears of War 3. The game was supposed to be announced tonight on the Jimmy Fallon show, but was revealed online by Game Informer a couple of days ago.

Bulletstorm’s based around a group of mercs known as Dead Echo. Two of the characters are named Ishi Sato and Grayson Hunt, they’re betrayed by their group and end up left in some kind of beautiful place, that’s unfortunately filled full of hungry man-eating mutants.

According to Game Informer “Players will take on hideous mutants in a flurry of lead, all the while racking up combos that encourage variety over headshot after headshot.”

The game’s set to use Unreal Engine 3, and with an experienced team who’ve done great things before, it’s likely to be pretty impressive.
