Square Enix shook things up a bit when they announced that their upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake would be spliced up in more than one part. While many were concerned that they would have to wait for an excruciating long time for the following parts to launch, it looks like the studio is on top of it because part II is already well into development.

Game director Tetsuya Nomura recently revealed in a new blog post that development is a go for part II, saying: “We’ve already begun working on the next one as well, but I’m confident that playing through this title will expand your expectations just like the world that extends beyond Midgar.”

In the same post, he also confirmed that there would be new bosses as well. According to the game director, “With regard to new characters, of whom I said during past interviews that there would be “none” – though they aren’t main characters, their numbers ended up growing considerably in the process of creating a rich depiction of Midgar. When you think of Midgar’s final boss, you probably think of the M.O.T.O.R., but in this game new bosses will appear and add to the excitement of the story even more.”

You can learn even more about the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake, and the team behind the venture, right here through the official Square Enix blog.

Final Fantasy VII Remake makes its official debut on March 3, 2020, exclusively to the PlayStation 4. For even more about the game:

“The first entry in a multi-part saga, delivering a level of depth inconceivable for the original. Mind-blowing story, unforgettable characters, epic battles and technical excellence collide. The world has fallen under the control of the Shinra Electric Power Company, a shadowy corporation controlling the planet’s very life force as mako energy. In the sprawling city of Midgar, an anti-Shinra organization calling themselves Avalanche have stepped up their resistance. Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinra’s elite SOLDIER unit now turned mercenary, lends his aid to the group, unaware of the epic consequences that await him.”
