We’ve had quite the bumper crop of announcements from Riot Games in the wake of their League of Legends tenth-anniversary, including the much-awaited confirmation from the team that they’re officially working on a fighting game. Known internally as Project L, this upcoming title has got plenty of fans chuffed already even though we’re likely over a year away from it actually being playable, and we’re no exception. Check out our list of the League of Legends Project L confirmed characters so far.
League of Legends Project L Confirmed Characters So Far – Ahri
Everyone’s favorite kitsune was bound to make an appearance. Ahri is already really popular with LoL fans for obvious reasons, and her being one of the K/DA stars just propelled her into the public spotlight. The Project L teaser showed off Ahri as a magic-using fighter (true to her AP carry status in the main game) facing off against Darius, and it looks like she may well be a projectile-based champ.
League of Legends Project L Confirmed Characters So Far – Darius
Darius is the other character that got a significant amount of the Project L airtime. Facing off not only against Ahri but also the dagger-wielding Katarina, this general was laying down the pain with his giant axe and preparing to dunk on his opponents. We expect this Noxian to have his signature moves in this upcoming fighting game too – his combo of a gap-closer and a melee smash would look absolutely spectacular in motion.
League of Legends Project L Confirmed Characters So Far – Katarina
Katarina is putting in the work here up against the heavily-armored Darius in the Project L teaser, and it looks like her quick-fire blade skills are going to translate over from the MOBA arena to the fighting game one. She delivers a deadly barrage of blades when she’s taking on all comers, and it’ll be interesting to see how she operates both close-range and at a distance based on her existing skillset.
League of Legends Project L Confirmed Characters So Far – Jinx
Piltover’s infamous Jinx is the ADC that we’ve been waiting for to round out the champions that have been confirmed so far for Project L. Since she swaps between two different types of firearms in the base game, we’ll be interested to see that translated into fighting game mechanics. Jinx will most likely retain her glass-cannon, highly-technical skillset even if the teaser seems pretty heavy on projectile-reliant picks at the moment. Where’s good ol’ Nasus or Lee Sin when you need them? Jinx also looks to be popping up in the LoL anime, and we’d expect nothing less from this franchise stalwart.
There’s what we know about the League of Legends Project L confirmed characters so far, though we bet that Riot is going to announce more before the tenth anniversary celebrations are up for the month. Sure, there’s a whole lot more to come with regards to TFT mobile, but the community has been thirsty for this fighting game for so long that it’d be a wasted opportunity to not give us more!
