This new creature is the evolved form of Farfetch’d. However, according to the official description of the newly revealed Pokemon Sword character, “only Farfetch’d that have survived many battles can attain this evolution” and become a Sirfetch’d. The new character holds two parts of a Leek as its weapons and is classified as a fighting type. Once its leek has withered, a Sirfetch’d from Pokemon Sword will retire from battling altogether.

Meteor Assault is a special attack move that only this particular character can learn. It is a mighty move that sees the creature point its leek at an enemy and charges at them at high speeds. However, the Meteor Assault move is very taxing on Sirfetch’d. The taxing nature of the Meteor Assault move means the creature will not be able to take action immediately following its use.

There is no denying that the overall community reception to the reveal has been overwhelmingly positive with there being plenty of excited fans ready to add one of these creatures to their team when the new game arrives. Some fans, however, were a tad disappointed that the evolved form of Farfetch’d will not be appearing in the franchise’s Shield game when the creature does wield a shield in battle.
