Deadly Premonition 2 is coming to the Nintendo Switch and though it was met with mixed reviews at launch when it first came out, it’s a game you shouldn’t sleep on. Alongside the sequel’s reveal was also the news that Deadly Premonition: Origin is also coming to the Switch with a retail release in Australia and Europe this November thanks to Numskull Games!
Deadly Premonition first brought its campy horror to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 back in February 2010 from Rising Star Games. Some reviewers gave it a perfect score, while sites like IGN gave it a shocking 2 out of 10. Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise takes players to the open world of Le Carré. The main storyline begins in Boston, where an old FBI case 2005 is brought back up despite previously being thought of as solved. Players must work through solving these murders and crimes while jumping between 2005 and 2019 in a style that Deadly Premonition fans will be familiar with.
“After completing the Director’s Cut, Swery and I discussed in-depth about the ways we could continue the world of Deadly Premonition. In reaching here, we shared some laughter together and at times quarrelled, but we persisted with our voyage and I am thrilled that we finally made it to this point,” says TOYBOX COO/Producer Tomio Kanazawa.
“Only a few games have managed to stir up emotions the way the original Deadly Premonition did,” says Brjánn Sigurgeirsson of Rising Star Games. “Ten years later we’re literally thrilled to continue down this path to find out where Swery and his team take us.”
We don’t have a release date at this time for Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise other than 2020, but Deadly Premonition: Origins is available now on the Nintendo eShop with a physical collector’s edition coming to Europe and Australia from Numskull Games.
