Microsoft has made leaps and bounds when it comes to integrating with PC and it looks like Sony may be gearing up to do the same with their PlayStation properties. We’ve already seen this happening a little bit with previous PlayStation exclusives such as Beyond Two Souls and Heavy Rain make their way over to the Epic Games Store, but it looks like that could be just the beginning.

Chairman of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Shawn Layden, recently sat down with the team over at Business Insider to open up a bit about what the future could look like for PlayStation fans. When talking about audience expansion, Layden mentioned “We must support the PlayStation platform – that is non-negotiable. That said, you will see in the future some titles coming out of my collection of studios which may need to lead into a wider installed base.”

It wouldn’t be surprising to see Sony branch more out into the PC verse. They’ve already dipped those toes in and with Microsoft delving more into Steam with their core franchises and with the Epic Games Store continuously growing at a rapid pace, the opportunity for Sony to corner that particular PC market is there. Though obviously, the above quote isn’t a confirmed PC line, it definitely alludes to them being open about this particular market, which means solid things for gamers everywhere once the petty console wars are set aside.

With cross-platform becoming a hotter and hotter topic of discussion, the widening of game selection is a win for all and would further tear down the barriers between platforms, making gaming more accessible than ever before.
