Yesterday we shared the big news that the Xbox Game Pass would be coming to PC in support of Windows 10. Taking that news even further, somewhere wondering what that meant for first-party franchises such as Gears and Halo and whether or not it will be through a specific client. Xboss Phil Spencer opened up a bit more about the avenues in which PC players can enjoy the world of Xbox first-party games, including other titles from studios like SEGA, Deep Silver, Bethesda, and so many more. This also includes cross-play and cross-network play, the name of the game is to promote community, tear down the barriers between platforms, and it’s working.

Saying “We believe you should have a choice in where you buy your games,” Spencer added “In March, we announced that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will come to PC later this year, launching on Steam in addition to the Microsoft Store on Windows. We will continue to add to the more than 20 Xbox Game Studios titles on Steam, starting with Gears 5 and all Age of Empires I, II & III: Definitive Editions. We know millions of PC gamers trust Steam as a great source to buy PC games and we’ve heard the feedback that PC gamers would like choice. We also know that there are other stores on PC, and we are working to enable more choice in which store you can find our Xbox Game Studios titles in the future.”

This is just the beginning and Microsoft promises they have much more to reveal during E3 next month! We’re less than 10 days away, are you ready?
