Following a leak earlier this week from a developer build of the game, the team behind Dead by Daylight has confirmed that a new villain is on its way – one that Scream fans will instantly recognize.

The studio recongnized the leak and faced it head-on in the recent tweet seen above. It reads: “Some lucky players got a glimpse of our upcoming chapter release content in today’s mid-chapter update,” they tweeted from the official Dead by Daylight account. That update has been corrected, but “in the meantime, enjoy the early hype on the next chapter.”

While not the ideal way to make a reveal, it’s exciting nonetheless! Scream’s The Ghost, or Ghostface, will be donning his familiar white Scream mask alongside a black hood and one spooky lookin’ robe. He will also have his handy dandy knife, because it wouldn’t be the Scream villain if there wasn’t any stabbing involved.

Scream’s Ghostface isn’t the only iconic horror villain to make its way into the game. Previous additions to the horror PvP title includes Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Michael Myers from Halloween, and even A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Freddy Krueger.

While the studio didn’t release associating images with the big reveal, Reddit was there with the leaked goods. For those that don’t mind a small spoiler, you can check out the footage right here.

As for the game itself, Dead by Daylight is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
