Ubisoft unlocked World Tier 5 gear with the Invasion content drop, which brought tons more to fans of the looter shooter. From the new Tidal Basin strongold, to first gear sets, there’s quite a bit to enjoy for those currently diving all-in with The Division 2. For those ready to take on a different grind, here’s what you need to know about increasing that Gear Score now that the cap has been changed.

Prior to the latest drop, the Gear Score was molded by various items in one’s inventory – which included their stash. Ubisoft has made a few changes since then, instead the World Tier 5 drops center around what a player has currently equipped. Some are saying that the could potentially be a glitch of some kind, though Ubisoft has not mentioned anything to the contrary.

If this is how the new system works, a few adjustments need to be made, including making sure that hte highest Gear Score items are equipped at all times. Once done, players can then continue on to the soft cap of a 500 Gear Score. Being a soft cap, there are ways to go beyond the 500 score, but that can only be done through Proficiency Caches, Invaded Missions, and Dark Zone Chaches.

Right now it seems that a large part of the player-base is unhappy with the changes, so it will be interesting to see if they decide to keep the system as-is with the new changes, or revert back to the previous progressional pattern.

Until Ubisoft themselves makes note of the unease, make sure to have that highest level equipped.

The Division 2 is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
