After first being hinted at in one of MINTROCKET’s developer updates, the news is now official. After rounds of testing and a successful experimental launch in China via the XD Network, Dave the Diver is now coming to mobile devices everywhere, including Android and iOS. This brings the game to virtually every type of platform now, having since debuted on all major consoles, including the Nintendo Switch 2 (which is now suddenly more appealing after Steam’s bittersweet reveal of the Steam Machine).

That said, fans will have to wait just a bit longer, as Dave the Diver is currently set to launch for mobile in August of this year (no exact date has been given yet). However, you can still prepare ahead of time by pre-registering on either the App Store or Google Play.

This will set up your device to immediately download the game once it’s live, and you’ll be able to try the initial stages of the game for free, while a one-time purchase will unlock the remainder of its content. This applies to all who download the game for mobile, regardless of whether you’ve previously purchased it on other platforms such as Steam. How this will work for the game’s released DLCs, namely the beefy Into the Jungle expansion, remains to be seen.

In the meantime, the developers at MINTROCKET have been hard at work with quality-of-life updates for the game’s Into the Jungle DLC, including possibly more post-expansion content. More optimization improvements are also rolling out for the Nintendo Switch, to help ensure a smoother playing experience for players who have been experiencing crashes on the handheld console.

Dave the Diver is currently available to play across all other platforms, including PS4, PS5, Xbox (Game Pass), Nintendo Switch, macOS, and PC (Steam).
