How to Extinguish Fires in Paralives
Well, that escalated quickly.
In Paralives, it is absolutely disastrous when you find yourself in a position where your house is on fire, and you don’t know what to do. It can happen early on, and you can burn down your house in just a few minutes.
Here’s what you should do when a fire breaks out in your house in Paralives.
How to Call the Firefighters in Paralives

When a fire breaks out, the best way to deal with it is to call the firefighters to help out. There are two ways to do this. First, you can have a smoke detector installed in areas with fire hazards, such as the kitchen, and the device will do it for you if there’s a fire. Now, if you built your house with an empty lot, you might have forgotten to do this, which is probably why you are here.
There’s also a chance that some pre-built houses might not have them. If you started a playthrough just buying a home instead of building one in an empty lot, there are some houses without smoke detectors, which coincidentally happened to me.
To get a smoke detector, go to the build menu and choose the third tab on the upper-left corner. Go to the power category and look for the miscellaneous subcategory (the chat bubble icon) and look for the smoke detector item. You can also find a fire extinguisher here, and your character should pick it up if you manually interact with the fire and select “extinguish fire” as a command. Place a smoke detector near your kitchen, preferably just on top of the range or stove.

Second, you can also manually call the firefighters by using your phone. You can access your phone by selecting your character and choosing “Use phone…” Select “Call firefighters,” and they should immediately respond to the situation.
Now, when a fire breaks out, the household members will panic a lot. They will go out, and the best way to deal with the fire is to actually do everything. By everything I mean, place smoke detectors, buy a fire extinguisher, call the firefighters, and try to extinguish the fire. The fire spreads really quickly, and even if you extinguish some of them, your items might get destroyed in the process. So, you want to react as fast as possible, even pausing the game if you need time to think.
There’s also the case of preventing fires. If you happen to learn a cooking recipe and want to try it out, look for its level first. If the number or level is highlighted in “red,” there’s a high chance that you might cause a fire. This is because your cooking skills are not sufficient to make the dish. If you choose the cooking profession or happen to go to the store and learn a random recipe, there’s a chance you might learn an extremely difficult recipe. Avoid those until you can level up your cooking skills. You naturally get some cooking skills by just cooking food.
