How to Get Lucifer Rotsac in Subnautica 2
They were there all along.
In the early stages of Subnautica 2, you’ll find several crafting recipes but have no idea where to find the other resources. The easiest one to miss is the Lucifer Rotsac, which is important for crafting some early tools.
Here’s a quick guide on where to find Lucifer Rotsac early in Subnautica 2 – it’s just there right in the open, and you might not notice it.
Where to Get Lucifer Rotsacs in Subnautica 2
Lucifer Rotsacs are almost everywhere. They look like shining orange blobs, but it isn’t as obvious when it is daytime. At night, they are so obvious because they kind of act like a light source to get around the deep oceans.
Go to any of these orange blobs, as seen in the image above, and pick them up without any tools to get your Lucifer Rotsacs. After picking them up, you can also use a Survival Multitool to smash the Cradle Shootroot and get some Fibrous Pulps while you are at it. These are important to get some Fiber and craft other useful things like Oily Salad for food, equipment like Basic Fins, and even some Fiber Mesh a bit later into your playthrough.
As for the Lucifer Rotsacs, these are mainly used to produce:
- Rubber – 2x Lucifer Rotsac
- Grease – 1x Lucifer Rotsac
Rubber and Grease are key “basic” materials to craft a lot of other useful tools and equipment, so you’ll surely need a ton of these Lucifer Rotsacs throughout your playthrough.
Grease is needed to craft the Wakemaker tool, while Rubber is mostly needed to give you some quality-of-life equipment like Basic Fins (2x Rubber) and Standard Air Tank (1x Rubber), including the Air Bladder tool as well.
Even the Fiber will come in handy, so every time you farm some Lucifer Rotsacs, make sure to bring your Survival Multitool and grab as many Fibers as you can as well. Bring in your Portable Locker for extra inventory space to make your farming runs more efficient.
