Immediately after the cutscene, you’ll notice a Severed Hand on the floor. You can pick it up, but what does it actually do?

What is the Severed Hand in Resident Evil Requiem?

After picking up the Severed Hand, there really isn’t a place you can use it apart from analyzing it using the laser microscope, preferably in the Blood Lab in the east wing.

You can pick up the Severed Hand even when holding Emily just after the cutscene. Afterward, you can go to the Guard Room, bring Emily down to rest on the couch, and make your way to the Blood Lab.

When you reach the laser microscope, analyze the Severed Hand, and you’ll have to play the minigame where you need to activate all atoms. You only have three steps. Select the two atoms circled in red in the image above. Next, select the atom in the middle, circled in blue.

This should solve the Severed Hand puzzle and give you the answer “Let’s Play.”

While it doesn’t give you anything of value, “Let’s play.” is basically what the Girl has been wanting throughout the previous cutscenes. The code “GGC AAG AUA ACG UGU CAU” is a tough code to decipher.

In the literal sense, the string of code is actually an mRNA sequence that forms a polypeptide. That’s as far as I got for this fun little brain teaser from Capcom. As far as theories, it could be the genetic code for the “Shadow Ghost” or the Girl, which may lead to future encounters of the same type in other Resident Evil games.
