The Legacy of Phrecia Event Details in Path of Exile 1
One of the most casual and exciting events is back!
Grinding Gear Games has announced the return of the Legacy of Phrecia event for Path of Exile 1, running from 1:00 PM PST on January 29 to 1:00 PM PST on February 19.
Available on PC and consoles, the limited-time event is based on the Keepers ruleset and supports Standard and Hardcore Solo Self-Found modes. Here are more details about the Legacy of Phrecia event and how it differs from the 2025 event.

The event’s defining feature is its complete overhaul of Ascendancies. All 19 familiar Ascendancy classes are replaced with entirely new ones, offering experimental and unconventional playstyles, giving players some fun ways of exploring builds with more emphasis on fun than on class balances.
This also gives developers an idea of what to test in future leagues, which is overall a good thing for the game’s longevity.
Players who missed the original Legacy of Phrecia event can preview the available Ascendancies ahead of time, though Grinding Gear Games notes that balance adjustments will be detailed in patch notes released prior to launch.
Idols also return in this iteration, now featuring additional modifiers introduced in the Settlers League and Atlas Memories, while Breach modifiers have been disabled. The system allows players to combine mechanics freely, creating highly customized endgame setups. The recently added asynchronous trade system further streamlines the process of acquiring ideal idol combinations.
Several gameplay modifiers have been added to increase challenge and variety. Each area will feature a random number of map modifiers that scale with area level, while build-breaking effects like reflect have been removed. Campaign bosses and select Pinnacle encounters introduce new mechanics, and all unique monsters will now enrage when reaching low life.
As for rewards, players who reach level 50 and level 90 during the event will automatically earn a Third Edict Mystery Box at each milestone. Those who already own all items from that series will instead receive two Atlantis Mystery Boxes.
Here’s a list of all the Legacy of Phrecia ascendancies for each class:
- Ranger – Daughter of Oshabi, Whisperer, and Wildspeaker
- Marauder – Antiquarian, Behemoth, and Ancestral Commander
- Shadow – Surfcaster, Servant of Arakaali, and Blind Prophet
- Witch – Harbinger, Herald, and Bog Shaman
- Duelist – Gambler, Paladin, and Aristocrat
- Templar – Architect of Chaos, Polytheist, and Puppeteer
- Scion – Scavenger
The Legacy of Phrecia usually takes a more casual approach to the season, making progression much easier for players thanks to the idol system, which gives a lot of loot.
