There are several ways to build a Druid, so here’s a great leveling build guide you can follow to help you on your journey to master this powerful class in Path of Exile 2.

Druid Leveling Build Guide in Path of Exile 2 Last of the Druids

The Druid excels in several tough situations, like dealing with a mob of enemies, a few elites, or a strong single-target boss. It is flexible with abilities like Pounce that can give you some mobility and a dash while also having some decent AoE for a melee class with moves like Furious Slam.

You want to run a Talisman as your weapon and scale your damage with attack speed and more phys+ while getting decent survivability.

Druid Leveling Early Skills

Starting out, you can just use the early Voltaic Staff and the Lightning Bolt until you find a Talisman and some level 3 skill gems.

Use the following skills as you gain access to them:

  • Maul – Rapid Attacks, Rage, Life Leech
  • Furious Slam – Rage, Aftershock, Rapid Attacks
  • Pounce – Fists of War, Crater
  • Herald of Ash
  • Savage Fury
  • Shockwave Totem – Urgent Totems, Armour Break
  • Rampage

Savage Fury and Herald of Ash are your reserved skills. Savage Fury is powerful for periods of burst damage when activated. It’ll drain your Life, but get the Onslaught buff along with some extra damage. Herald of Ash helps with AoE by exploding and applying Ignite to enemies.

You’ll use Pounce and Rampage for extra mobility during fights while focusing on using Furious Slam to clear enemies. Shockwave Totem will help against strong elites and bosses, basically for your single-target fights.

Druid Leveling Passive Skills

You want to path to the following notable passive skill nodes:

  • Guardian of the Wilds
  • Radial Force
  • Sturdy Mind
  • Harbinger of Disaster
  • Primal Spirit
  • Personal Touch
  • Bestial Rage
  • Hide of the Bear
  • Molten Claw
  • Spirit of the Wolf
  • In Your Face

You are mostly trekking into the northwest side of the tree, trying to get as fast as you can to the key Druid shapeshifting nodes at the end of the cluster tree.

Most of the nodes help you in your Shapeshifting abilities by either giving you more damage, speeding up the animation, increasing damage radius, and adding survivability, sustain, and mobility.

Druid Early Gear Leveling Setup

The most important piece of your gear while leveling is the weapon. You want a good Talisman that can give you the highest +physical damage possible while trying to get some attack speed and +# to flat elemental damage.

It’ll be hard to get a really good one, but just focus on finding a decently-rolled Talisman with %Physical damage and +phys damage if possible.

Next would be the movement speed stat on your boots. This is almost mandatory for all classes, but maybe even more so for a Druid that benefits from movement speed.

Try to get more damage from your ring slots by finding +flat damage to phys or other elements. Get your maximum life, armor, and resistances from other rolls on your gloves, chest, helmet, belt, and boots.

You can use this whole setup throughout the campaign as you work toward Waystones or Maps.
