How To Reserve Your Username for Hytale Before Launch
Patience!
Pre-orders for Hytale will open soon, ahead of its release in January 2026. In addition to pre-orders, the developers have announced that players can sign up ahead of launch and register their usernames to ensure they are not taken at release.
Here is how you can reserve your unique username for Hytale right now and get your details in early.
Reserve Your Username for Hytale
To reserve your username ahead of its release, you need to register at the official Hytale website and follow a few more steps to receive the required token. Here is how this works:
- Head over to the following link to register for Hytale.
- You can use Discord, Epic Games, Google, Microsoft, and Twitch to sign up, but I recommend using an Email (which is the final option) for the sake of security.

- You’ll have to enter your date of birth, verify the email, and accept the terms of agreement.
- After you’ve verified the email, head over to the following link and make sure to subscribe to their newsletter by clicking the second option. This increases your chance of receiving the Token.
- After that, it’s pretty much a waiting game until you receive a single-use token from the developers through email.
- When you receive that email containing the Token, head over to the following link and click RESERVE USERNAME.
- Enter the unique username you want for your account in the first box, and enter the token provided in the email as well. Remember, you need both to reserve this.
If the Token is correct and the username is available, you’ll then have reserved the unique username until release, and you don’t need to worry about someone else taking your name. Once pre-purchases go live, you will be able to create a game profile using your reserved usernames.
Keep in mind that just like you, thousands, possibly millions of players are trying to register and reserve their usernames, so it might take a while before you receive the token. Additionally, if you played a beta in the past, there’s a chance you already received a link to reserve usernames along with the token, so definitely check your email inbox.
While this is a neat system and it’s probably done to avoid a lot of players trying to create accounts at the same time, it’s still a bit of a convoluted process.
