KOEI TECMO is not done with the Fatal Frame franchise just yet, and they are now bringing the most iconic entry in the series to modern consoles with a full remake of Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly.

With preorders live across most storefronts, here is what you will receive for an early purchase and what comes in each edition of Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake.

For an additional $20, you’re mostly getting cosmetics and some digital goodies. Personally, I think that’s a bit excessive, considering the additional content you already receive by pre-ordering the standard edition. This edition does not give you any form of early access either.

Fatal Frame II Crimson Butterfly Remake Release Date

The game is coming to PC, Xbox Series S|X, PS5, and the Nintendo Switch on March 12, 2026.

Based on all the footage shown so far, Fatal Frame II Crimson Butterfly Remake looks very faithful to the original, and I hope that it reflects continued interest in the franchise from KOEI TECMO.
