Here is how you can unlock each locked character in MARVEL Cosmic Invasion.

Unlock Each Character in Marvel Cosmic Invasion

There are four locked characters in Marvel Cosmic Invasion, and you’ll unlock each one as you progress through the main campaign. You’ll face each of them as bosses during the story and unlock them once you defeat them.

Here are the relevant missions for each locked character in Marvel Cosmic Invasion in order:

Each of these characters is meant to be used in later missions and adds a lot of variety to the roster. They are all very strong and have distinct playstyles, bringing the total count to 15 playable characters.

Venom has grabs that let him throw enemies and bosses around the arena, while Phyla Vell uses a sword, marking weapons, and a hard-hitting, screen-covering special that deals a lot of damage. Similarly, both Phoenix and Silver Surfer have excellent mobility, letting them move around the arena with ease and contribute a lot to combos.

None of these bosses is challenging to beat, but here are a few general tips to take on each:

  • Bring your most levelled-up characters if your goal is to unlock the characters quickly. You can complete the challenges whenever you want with specific characters.
  • Personally, I found that Captain America is easily one of the best characters in the game, and his shield throw allows you to take on most enemies and bosses from range without much trouble. He doesn’t have a limited secondary, and if you get close enough, you can spam the shield throw for plenty of damage and keep bosses in the air.
  • Try to keep both of your characters alive before the main fight, even if they’re on low health. Try picking up heals with the character who has low health; it’ll heal both anyway.
  • Before the boss room, there are opportunities to heal, whether from breakables or that small enemy that carries a sack. Make sure to take it out to get a special or health refill.

Overall, a regular playthrough will ensure you have the entire roster unlocked and ready to beat up bad guys (and insects, and symbiotes, and other things).
