How to Find and Defeat Ultima Carver in Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 4

There are some spooky and scary bosses wandering around the island for the duration of the Fortnitemares event. They’re all fairly tricky to find, but Ultima Carver might be the toughest one to track down.

Beating this NPC in battle is a key task for multiple Fortnitemares quests, so you’ll need to engage with him a few times if you’re hoping to earn all available rewards. He’s a tough guy to locate, though, so here’s how to find and defeat Ultima Carver in Fortnite.

Ultima Carver Location Fortnitemares

Ultima Carver has three different possible spawn locations around the island, all of which are fairly spread out, making him a tough character to track down if you land at the wrong one. His possible spawn locations are:

• On a mountain near the north end of Viney Shafts.
• At the very top of a tall mountain south of Ranger’s Ruin.
• In the middle of the bridge at Pumpkin Pass.

His location is marked with a skull wearing a crown icon. Unfortunately, you can’t see this icon until you’re actually in the right area, which means you essentially have to blindly choose one of the three spots and hope you’re right. If you aren’t, you’ll need to swiftly travel to the next spot to check, and so on for the third one, until you find him.

He disappears from the map once he’s been beaten in battle, so if another player gets to him first, you’ll have to wait until the next round to fight him. Luck plays a large role in tracking him down since there’s no way to know which of the three spots he’ll choose to appear at. Generally, I’ve had the best luck starting at the spot north of Viney Shafts, then heading down to the one south of Ranger’s Ruin if need be, since they’re not too far apart.

How to Defeat Ultima Carver in Fortnite

For the defeat Ultima Carver Fortnitemares quest, you simply need to eliminate him in battle once. Ultima Carver is a mini-boss, which means you can fight him however you want to beat him. He’s not great at aiming and moves around fairly slowly, so just shoot at him with everything you’ve got until you manage to deplete his full health bar.

I primarily used Ghostface’s Last Call item against him, and it made quick work of his health bar since his weapons are more suited to long-range attacks, making it easy to slice him up close with no resistance. I did shoot him a bit towards the end, though, just to see how it went, and his health bar still drained quite fast, so you can easily find success battling against him however you prefer.

He does use an explosive Pumpkin Launcher in combat, so make sure you’re watching for when he shoots, as one wrong hit with this can kill you if you’re not careful. It’s a super slow weapon to reload, though, so it’s generally quite easy to know when he’s about to shoot.

Defeating Ultima Carver in battle grants you a Legendary Pumpkin Launcher as a reward. It’s the only one present on the whole island, so if you enjoy using this weapon, it’s certainly worth getting.
