Megachad is one of the stronger characters in Megabonk and is perfect for anyone who loves tanks and aura farming. With the right setup, Megachad becomes an AFK farming monster or a boss-slaying juggernaut. Let’s go over the best meta Megachad build in Megabonk.
Megachad Stats and Passive
Megachad’s design revolves around survivability and attrition. His passive, Muscle Flex, stops incoming damage and stuns all nearby enemies with a cooldown of 15 seconds. Every level up reduces its cooldown by 0.2 seconds up to a maximum of 10 seconds at level 50.

His weaknesses are quite clear as he’s slow, and his early-game damage feels underwhelming without the right pickups. But once Aura, Aegis, and the core Tomes come online, Megachad can snowball into one of the most durable characters in Megabonk.
The Best Megachad Build in Megabonk
The best Megachad build focuses on the very core of his kit as you upgrade his Aura and Passive with cooldowns and sustain. Funnel all your upgrades into his two strongest weapons and three best tomes.
Best Weapons for Megachad
- Aura
- Aegis
- Axe (flexible)
- Bone (flexible)
Aura is Megachad’s main damage source; it creates a damaging field around him, letting you walk into swarms and clear waves passively while soaking hits. Aegis synergizes with Aura as it absorbs enemy attacks and releases retaliatory shockwaves AoE’s around you. Since your upgrades are limited, you should focus on maxing out these two before picking up any other weapon.

Best Tomes for Megachad
- Damage Tome
- Luck Tome
- XP Tome
- Cooldown Tome/Cursed Tome
Damage is a must-have to fix Megachad’s weaknesses and help him keep up DPS. XP Tome lets you get more levels in quickly, while Luck Tome increases rewards from those accelerated level-ups. Last but not least, Cooldown Tome helps bring down his passive, Aegis, and Aura procs to near 0 cooldown. If you’re absolutely confident, then the Cursed Tome gives the best results.

Best Items for Megachad
- Gym Sauce
- Forbidden Juice
- Burgers
- Thorns
- Moldy Cheese
- Anvil
- Holy Book
Megachad ideally wants sustain and global buffs. Gym Sauce and Forbidden Juice ramp up your scaling and damage multipliers. Thorns punish enemies that touch you during shield downtime, while Moldy Cheese with Aura applies poison ticks endlessly. Anvil is an overpowered meta item that gives you controlled upgrade timing, and Holy Book adds a solid burst AoE to complement Aura.
How to Play Megachad
Early Game (Zone 1)
Megachad’s weak spot is his early damage, so you need to focus on XP and Aura scaling as quickly as possible before things start getting out of hand. Use shrines for silver and loot, but don’t overcommit if your Aegis isn’t up. Upgrade your Aura to a level where it can start clearing waves passively while tanking hits.
Mid Game (Zones 2–3)
By now, Aura and Aegis should be scaling well. Start fishing for sustain items like Burgers and Forbidden Juice while stacking global damage buffs like Gym Sauce. If you roll Moldy Cheese, prioritize it because the poison stacking turns Megachad into a DOT machine. Magnet shrines are huge value since you’ll often leave XP scattered behind while face-tanking swarms. Play aggressively, but keep an eye on shield cooldowns. Consider it a warning that you need more damage once enemies start breaking into your Aura circle.
Late Game and Bossing
If you’ve survived this late with Megachad, he’ll scale very well. Zawardo and Aegis uptime give you safety against T3 bosses, while Aura’s size scaling wipes waves even if your raw DPS lags. Double Bob or Slurp Gloves add huge single-target damage if you’re lucky enough to roll them. Boss fights are a battle of attrition, as you can chip away and sustain until they’re dead, but this means you absolutely need to dodge those brutal OHK attacks.

With Aura as his core, Aegis as his safety net, and sustain items like Gym Sauce and Burgers, Megachad turns into a juggernaut that simply refuses to die.
