How to Get Birthday Presents in Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 4

Time to open up some gifts.

Fortnite quests regularly task you with tracking down certain locations or items around the island. Many of these assets are fairly rare and quite tricky to find, as is the case with birthday presents.

These special items are only around for a limited time each year, so if you want to interact with them, you’ve got to act fast to do so. Opening presents is also a key part of the annual birthday event, so here’s how to get birthday presents in Fortnite Chapter Six, season four.

How to Find Birthday Presents in Fortnite

Birthday Presents are exceptionally rare in Fortnite, but they can technically be found anywhere around the island. I’ve done lots of hunting for them, and the best way to find them is by scouring the world for floor loot.

This item can drop as loot from any loot acquisition method, including chests, rare chests, OXR chests, OXR Supply Drops, regular Supply Drops, and any other method you can think of. The issue is that it’s a legendary item, so the spawn rate is extremely low.

Unfortunately, there’s no easy way to guarantee you find this item, which is frustrating since you need it for a quest. The only thing you can do to increase your chances of finding Birthday Presents is loot constantly.

Start by heading straight to a main POI from the battle bus, ideally one on the outskirts of the island, so you can avoid fights. Locations like Resistance Base, Outpost Enclave, Kappa Kappa Factory, Shogun’s Solitude, and First Order Base are great options.

Once you’re at one of these spots, get looting. Open every chest you come across, and keep your eyes peeled for floor loot as you travel around. Look for a slightly golden glow, as all presents have it.

If you spend the full round hunting for birthday presents, you should eventually come across at least one, although luck plays a large role in how easy or difficult they are to find. Out of three rounds I spent searching for them, I only came across one, but when I played again later, I found two in the same match, so it’s really up to chance.

What do Birthday Presents drop in Fortnite?

Birthday presents drop an array of random loot items, including a weapon, usually of higher rarity, some ammo, balloons, gold bars, and other miscellaneous items. For how tough they are to find, the items you get aren’t all that great, so outside of when quests require you to find them, birthday presents aren’t really worth searching for.

Throw Birthday Presents in Fortnite

To complete the throw task that’s part of all birthday quests you need to complete, you must find and throw a total of three gifts. Throwing gifts is easy enough, as this is how you open them, but finding three different presents is a fairly tricky task.

Do your best to loot around the island frequently to ensure you’re able to get this quest done. Once you’re finished with this feat, you can move on to other tricky endeavors, like visiting the mysterious location in the mountains.
