Dying Light: The Beast showers players with weapons all the time, and you’ll have plenty to choose from thanks to an endless variety of melee and ranged weapons. That said, it’s natural to have favorites, but due to the durability system of the game, you’re bound to lose them eventually.
Thankfully, there is a repairing system in place to extend the life of these weapons, and here is how you can repair weapons in Dying Light: The Beast and reset the durability and repair counter.
How To Repair Weapons in Dying Light The Beast
Each weapon in Dying Light: The Beast has a durability value, which goes down the more you use it. To repair a weapon, open your inventory at any given point and hover over the weapon. Next, hold R to repair it to restore its full durability while using some scraps in the process.

You will see how many “Repairs” you have remaining right below the Durability bar.

This is the number of times you can repair it before it’s completely broken.
Here are a few tips related to durability:
- Lower-end weapons will have lower durability, while higher-end weapons will have significantly higher durability.

- Think of the lower-tier (common) weapons as something you want to use for regular enemies and something you would consider disposable, while you’d want to save the better weapons for harder enemies, hordes, and tricky situations.

- Don’t worry about the repair cost of weapons. Scrap is found everywhere, and it’s pretty cheap at vendors and commonly found in exploration.
- Getting attached to weapons is fine, but don’t get too attached. There are tons and tons of weapons in Dying Light: The Beast, and you’ll always find a new favorite.
Reset Weapon Durability
If you like a weapon a lot and want to continue using it, you can reset its durability by “enhancing” it at the workbench.

Usually, this means that some of the weapon’s stats will be increased, making it better to use in combat.

Keep in mind, you can only enhance weapons a few times. Also, I wouldn’t waste resources on enhancing lower-tier weapons.
Can you repair broken weapons?
Yes, even if you have bashed away every bit of your weapon, it can still be repaired. Follow the same steps, and you’ll be able to restore your weapon in no time.

This durability system adds so much-needed tension and decision-making without ruining the fun. There are tons and tons of unique weapons that you’d want to save for later.
