Best Mods for Hollow Knight Silksong

Modded SHAW!

Hollow Knight: Silksong has been out for less than a day, yet it has already brought several digital storefronts to their knees. With its breakout success on Steam, especially, it’s no surprise that modders are already enhancing the experience with quality-of-life features, technical improvements, and customization.

Here are my picks for the best mods you can currently install for Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Note: Most mods featured here are available through Nexus Mods, and you will need a free account to download the files.

Always On Compass (Plus Magnet)

The first mod removes the slot restriction for the Compass tool in Hollow Knight: Silksong. This means that its effect will be permanently enabled even if you don’t have it equipped.

If you’re someone who has a hard time with directions or figuring out your location but don’t want this tool to take up a slot in the process, then this mod is super useful. In addition to the compass, you can also keep the magnet enabled by downloading the second version from the mod files.

RenoDX – HDR

RenoDX is known for its excellent HDR implementations in games that don’t normally support HDR natively. Considering how vibrant the visuals are for Hollow Knight: Silksong, HDR really pops the colors and makes everything look even better.

It has several features that let you improve and adjust the presentation, including color grading, individual effects like bloom and vignette, and even improve the existing SDR implementation.

Infinite Rosaries

Look, if you don’t want to explore and constantly look for Rosaries, then this simple mod adds 1000 Rosaries to your inventory with a button press.

That’s literally all it does, and if you aren’t bothered by what is essentially a cheat code, then press away!

Zoom Adjust

If you aren’t happy with the current zoom level or field of view, then this handy mod lets you adjust how much of the screen you actually want to be visible relative to your character.

This works well with the vingettte removal mod, which I’m going to talk about next!

No Vignette

While vignette is a big part of the game’s presentation, if you aren’t a fan of what it obscures on-screen, then this mod disables the effect almost entirely. Here is a comparison shared by the mod author:

We will be updating this article with even more neat mods as they come out, so make sure to keep checking! For now, you can further improve your experience by adding proper 32:9 ultrawide support to Silksong and learn all about the different traders and merchants you’ll find in the world!

When he isn't spending an unhealthy amount of time in Slay the Spire, he's probably trying out yet another retro-shooter or playing Dark Souls for the 50th time.
