Destiny is headed to mobile devices with Destiny: Rising, a gacha shooter from NetEase Games in collaboration with Bungie. It’s coming to Android and iOS for now, and like other games in the genre, you can now pre-register for it to get some neat rewards when the game launches.

You need to pre-register to avail these awards, and once the game launches, you will gain access to these items in your mailbox when they unlock Chapter 1-1. 

The value of each item should be clear once the game is out, but multiple currencies and items are pretty common in other gacha games as well, so having some bonuses early on can help with pulls.

The final pre-registration milestone has been reached, and there aren’t any additional rewards beyond this point unless the developers state otherwise. You still have plenty of time before the official release date to pre-register, so make sure you do so to gain that early advantage.

NetEase has made a name for its collaborative projects with existing Western IPs, and depending on how well it handles the monetisation and customisation aspect, Destiny Rising has the potential to be a major hit on mobile.

There aren’t many gacha shooters on the market, especially with a fairly developed universe like Destiny, and it makes sense for Bungie to invest in a project like this. Oh, if you were put off by the first-person perspective for Destiny, the mobile release allows you to seamlessly switch between both perspectives during combat and traversal.

Overall, I’m excited to see how well the final release plays on mobile and if the monetization is fair enough for a longer and worthwhile experience.
