Nintendo Switch Release Date – March 3, 2017

When Nintendo unveiled the Switch, we learned quite a few details about the console, but only a broad release window was revealed. We now know that the Nintendo Switch will officially become available on March 3, 2017 worldwide.

Looking at the game releases in March, the schedule is already filling up with some heavy hitters. Already set to release in March are Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Nier, Mass Effect: Andromeda, MLB: The Show 17 and Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 Remix. In addition, Tekken 7 is set to release sometime between now and March (which could easily land it in March given there’s still no official release date for it), and the physical release of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 is also scheduled for late March.

Nintendo Switch Price – $299.99

Anyone who has purchased a brand new console on day one knows that the launch lineup is very important. The Nintendo Switch launch is no different, as all eyes were on Nintendo for the unveiling of the launch titles on January 12, 2017. The launch titles and other 2017 games include: 1, 2, Switch, Arms, Splatoon 2, Super Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade 2, Fire Emblem Warriors, Shin Megami Tensei, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, FIFA and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

You can play games online for free at first, but that ability will become a paid service sometime after launch. Luckily there will be no region lock for the Nintendo Switch, so any games that release early in another territory you will still be able to play no matter what region your Nintendo Switch is from.

It’s possible to play the Nintendo Switch in TV Mode, on your TV, Tabletop Mode, using the kickstand and separating the two Joy-Con controllers, and Handheld Mode, just like the Nintendo DS. Battery life will range from 2.5 hours to 6 hours varying by game. You can charge with the included USB-C charging cord and up to eight consoles can be linked together for multiplayer gaming.

Stay tuned to this article as we’ll be updating with the latest news on the Nintendo Switch launch lineup as soon as it happens!
