After completing Tyranny’s first Act, players will receive a quest, Seats of Power. This new quest tasks players with activating and claiming five Spires around the Tiers. In this article, we will show you how to activate the Ocean Spire, which can be found in the Oldwalls Breach during the quest, A Breach Between Worlds.
Discovering the Rune Pieces
Hidden throughout the Oldwalls are several rune fragments that can be recorded using a piece of charcoal and some parchment. When you find three of these fragments and place them together, you can use them to deduce the rune that you must draw within the Archaic hallway inside of the Spire. You should find these rune fragments during your journey into the Oldwalls. If you follow our A Breach Between Worlds walkthrough, you will be able to grab them along the path.
Once you have all of the runes, you will need to explore and find the entrance to the Spire. It is hard to miss, and is something that you will discover by following through the quest.
Activating the Rune Symbol
Once you have the rune fragments outline, it is now time to activate them within the Rune Archaic Hall at the bottom of the Spire. To activate the Spire and gain access to the top of it, you will need to complete the symbol on the parchment by clicking each rune in the floor, and then clicking the one that it needs to connect to. It does not matter what order you connect the runes, just that you connect them.
Once you connect all of the runes and draw the symbol listed on the parchment, it is now time to use the portal that it activated in the center of the floor. This will teleport you to the top of the Spire, where you can choose an upgrade. You’ll also be able to use this Spire to immediately teleport to other Spires throughout the Tiers, thus allowing you to quickly travel through the land. This is the only version of Fast Travel available in the game.
Unlocking Spires is an optional part of the story, but it is something that we highly recommend. It cuts down on the amount of time that you must travel from place to place, and also allows you to build new upgrades, which can make your job much easier. If you follow this walkthrough, then this is the first Spire that you have unlocked after the Spire atop Ascension Hall, so be sure to choose your upgrade carefully. We’ve included an image of the full Rune below.
