The best range is the ideal range from the goal that you should be using each kick type. Short range indicates under 25 yards, while long range would be over 25 yards. The strong foot indicates which foot you should shoot with depending on which side of the goal you’re on. For example, the Curl Free Kick shows the strong foot as right on the right side and left on the left side. This means you should use your right foot if you’re shooting from the right side of the goal, and your left foot if you’re shooting from the left side of the goal.

Of course if you’re looking for formation tips to score goals, or the best and cheapest players for career mode, we’ve got you covered there as well.

Curl Free Kick

  • Best Range: Short
  • Required Attributes: High Curve
  • Strong Foot: Right on right side; Left on left side

With the Curl Free Kick you want to aim roughly one yard outside of the goal post closest to your position. Ideally you want to use two bars of power and use the Left Analog Stick to push 45 degrees up and toward the goal.

Dipping Free Kick

  • Best Range: Short
  • Required Attributes: High FKA, Low Curve
  • Strong Foot: Right on right side; Left on left side

For the Dipping Free Kick you want to aim right between the heads of the two defenders and use one or two bars of power with the Left Analog Stick pointing up.

Dipping Power Free Kick

  • Best Range: Long
  • Required Attributes: High Power
  • Strong Foot: Right on right side; Left on left side

Use the Left Analog Stick to shoot the ball while aiming for the hole between the defenders outside of the wall. Try to get between 3 and 3.5 bars of power, then hold L1 (on PlayStation 4) and press Up on the Left Analog Stick as you shoot.

Driven or Under Wall Free Kick

  • Best Range: Short
  • Required Attributes: High Power, Low Curve
  • Strong Foot: Right on right side; Left on left side

Once again you want to focus on the player on the outside wall. With the Driven or Under Wall Free Kick you want to aim between the player’s legs. Hold down L1 (on the PlayStation 4) and use one bar of power while pressing up on the Left Analog stick.

Dummy Pass Free Kick

  • Best Range: Very Short
  • Required Attributes: Any
  • Strong Foot: Either

You only want to use the Dummy Pass Free Kick when you’re making a very short distance kick. Press R1 and L2 on the PS4 to call both players, then use the Fake Shot skill move by pressing X and Square at the same time (A and X on the Xbox One). Use the Left Analog Stick to aim at the runner that steps over the ball, and press Triangle (PS4) or Y (Xbox One) to get a Through Ball.

Knuckleball Free Kick

  • Best Range: Long
  • Required Attributes: High Power
  • Strong Foot: Either

When using the Knuckleball Free Kick you want to use the Left Analog Stick to aim for the far side of the goal. Use three bars of power and hold L1 while aiming approximately 45 degrees up and toward the goalie’s side.

Power Curl Free Kick

  • Best Range: Long
  • Required Attributes: High Power, High Curve
  • Strong Foot: Right on right side; Left on left side

Using 2.5 to 3.5 bars of power, hold L1 and the shoot button. You want to point 45 degrees up and toward the goal with the Left Analog Stick, and aim about 2-3 yards outside of the closest goal post.

Power Trivela Free Kick

  • Strong Foot: Left on right side; Right on left side

Before you execute this kick, you want to use the Right Analog Stick to move the starting position to be in line with the ball, and near the goal post outside of the wall. Once you’ve in position, hold L1 and use 2-3 bars of power to aim 45 degrees up and toward the center of the goal. Ideally you want to aim 2-3 yards outside of the closest goal post.

Trivela Free Kick

  • Best Range: Short
  • Required Attributes: High FKA, High Curve
  • Strong Foot: Right on left side; Left on right side

When it comes to the new Trivela Free Kick, you want to use the Left Analog Stick to aim one yard outside of the closest goal post. Using the Right Analog Stick, move your ru up so that it’s in line with the ball and near the post, outside of the wall. Ideally you want two bars of power and using the Left Analog Stick to secure a 45 degree angle up and toward the goal.
