Path of Exile 2 will enter its early access stage this December 6, 2024, and players are eager to know if they have a free early access key tied to their account or if they have to buy the early access supporter pack to get it. Grinding Gear Games did say they are giving long-time supporters some free keys, but how exactly does it work and how can you check your account if you got an early access key in Path of Exile 2? Here are all the details.
What Accounts Are Eligible For a Free Path of Exile 2 Early Access Key
Path of Exile 2’s early access keys will be given to accounts that have one of the following requirements:
- Players who have purchased the most expensive supporter packs, which are the $90 seasonal supporter packs (every league).
- Players who have a lifetime purchase of $480 on a single platform.
There will be a huge part of the player base that don’t meet these requirements even if they have followed Path of Exile for years. Since you are most likely well taken care of with a $60 pack – having all the important tabs and maybe even your favorite skill cosmetics, it is rare to purchase the $90 unless you really want a cosmetic tied to the supporter pack itself. I know I am guilty of this.
For the second requirement, $480 is a high number, even if the game has been out for more than a decade. Coincidentally, $480 is also the price of one of their most expensive supporter packs that is available year-round. These packs are the ones that include the Atlas Hideout and more.
These are the only accounts eligible for the free Path of Exile 2 early access key. You can check your account if you have a free early access key here. Just log in to their official site and use the link to check.
How to Check Your Account’s Microtransaction History
If you don’t have the early access key in the link above, don’t lose hope as Grinding Gear Games has made it explicitly clear that they are working on giving everyone that’s eligible an early access key to Path of Exile 2. However, you must make sure that you are truly eligible for an early access key. One way to check is to head to the Path of Exile website, log into your account, hover over “Home” and choose “My Account.”
On your account page, you’ll see some tabs on the right, under your profile name and supporter banners. Look for “View transactions” and click it. This will show you all the transactions you have made on Path of Exile. If these total up to $480 or if one of the supporter packs listed is the $90 one, you should be eligible for an early access key.
If you didn’t get it on the first link in this article, all you have to do is wait for the email. Grinding Gear Games highly recommends waiting until the early access is released before inquiring about your early access key since they are experiencing a high number of customer support tickets.
In my experience, I have received the key through the link and also got an email that reminded me that I have an early access key waiting for me. These are two separate instances for the key, but they both link to the same Path of Exile early access key link. If you already have an early access key and you also decided to get the early access supporter pack, you’ll also get another key to share with a friend!
