How to Get Ultimate Weapons in The First Descendant

Does DPS matter here?

Where to Get Ultimate Weapons in The First Descendant

You can get Ultimate Weapons by crafting one from Anais or getting one from a premium Battle Pass. These Ultimate Weapons are one of the most powerful weapons in the game, but it isn’t that far from a rare (purple rarity) weapon. In fact, some rare weapons have more DPS than an Ultimate Weapon. We’ll discuss this more later.

To craft Ultimate Weapons, go to Anais in Albion and interact with her. Go to the research requests; on the left side, you’ll see some categories. Go to the weapon category and see some of the Ultimate Weapons available.

Each weapon will need some materials or blueprints before you can start the research. If you select a specific Ultimate Weapon, you can hover over the research materials and you can check their acquisition information. Most of these items are from mission rewards, but some of them are also dropped from Amorphous Material Patterns.

Once you have farmed the materials, you can go back to Anais and start the research. Most of the Ultimate Weapons take at least 4 hours or more to craft, so it would be best to prioritize these before ending your gaming session.

How Strong are Ultimate Weapons in The First Descendant?

As mentioned before, Ultimate Weapons tend to have lower DPS than other rare weapons. However, these Ultimate Weapons have effects. Let’s take the Thunder Cage as an example; you can also see the description of the weapon in the image above.

The Thundercage has an effect called Overcharge. Overcharge’s effect is “when defeating an enemy, the defeated foe has a chance to discharge an Electric Shockwave that deals additional damage to nearby enemies.”

The DPS number on the weapon will not account for this effect. Apart from the Electric Shockwave effect, you also get a Reload Time Modifier, Trigger Rate, and Damage Range stat bonuses from the Overcharge. To top it all off, you can combine two Thunder Cages and enhance the unique ability, Overcharge, by using the Workbench.

In short, while DPS plays a big role in damage output, Ultimate Weapons make up for it with its unique abilities. You’ll have to upgrade your Ultimate Weapons because they all start at level one once crafted or researched.
