Turn that junk into well-oiled machine.

The First Descendant throws many weapons at you, but most of them will be worse than the other. However, if you prefer a specific weapon type but struggle to find one with a high DPS, you can upgrade them through weapon transmissions. Here’s how to upgrade weapons in The First Descendant and get those DPS stats up!

Where to Upgrade Weapons in The First Descendant

To upgrade weapons, you need to go to the Workbench. You can find it near Deslin, the weapons dealer, in Albion. Deslin has a weapons icon next to him, and he is near the area where you can research new Descendants or upgrade your modules.

Interact with the workbench, and you’ll see four options:

  • Weapon Level Transmission
  • Weapon Readjustment
  • Enhance Unique Ability
  • Reactor Enhancement

Weapon Level Transmission will turn any weapon into an upgraded version if you have another weapon with a high base level. For example, let’s say you are level 34 and getting level 34 weapon drops. You have a Hand Cannon that is level 24, but you cannot find any Hand Cannons at your level. You can use the Weapon Level Transmission to upgrade your Hand Cannon to level 34 by combining it with another level 34 weapon. The method does require some Phase Changer materials, so it wouldn’t suggest upgrading your weapon until you reach the endgame.

Weapon readjustments will only be applicable for purple and above rarity. Since weapon readjustments manipulate the stats on an item, any weapon below purple won’t have any stats to readjust. If you have a reduced recoil stat or a firearm critical hit rate on a weapon, you can lock them in the weapons readjustments page by selecting all these stats.

Once they are locked, you can readjust the weapon to roll for new stats on the weapon. The locked stats will remain, and you’ll keep rolling on the other stats until you get what you need. These require some readjustment materials like Control Axes.
