Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Best Steam Deck Graphics Settings

Recruit demons on the go, now in 60 FPS!

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance was originally released on the Nintendo Switch back in 2021 and has now made its way to more consoles, as well as PCs. The handheld release was always destined to be enjoyed on the Steam Deck at glorious 60 FPS, and thankfully, it’s easily achievable. Here are the best graphics settings for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance on the Steam Deck.

Best Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Graphics Settings for the Steam Deck

The default graphics settings in Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance can easily maintain 60 FPS in most areas, with minor dips in some of the more demanding scenes. With that said, here are the recommended settings.

Graphics SettingValue
Ambient OcclusionON
Motion BlurOFF
Anti-AliasingOn
Screen ModeFull Screen
Resolution1280×800
Vertical SyncNone
Frame Rate LimitUnlimited

These settings will maintain 60 FPS in most scenes, and given the turn-based nature of the game, the occasional dips don’t matter much.

  • We recommend using the Steam Deck’s frame-rate limiter instead of the option in-game. This ensures that the refresh rate also matches the framerate, providing a far smoother experience than the typical Unreal Engine limiter.

Further Optimization

While 60 FPS is easily attainable, if you want to play longer and improve battery hours, you can lower a few things to put less strain on the Deck. It’s also recommended to drop the resolution to 720p here.

Graphics SettingValue
Ambient OcclusionON
Motion BlurOFF
Anti-AliasingOn
Screen ModeFull Screen
Resolution1280×720
Vertical SyncNone
Frame Rate Limit (In-Game)Unlimited
Steam Deck Frame Limit50 FPS
TDP Limit10 Watts

We still recommend playing it at 1280×800 and with a 60 FPS target and enjoy the smooth gameplay. It’s a real looker, and one of the best JRPGs you can play on the Deck, especially this particular version that comes with a plethora of quality-of-life features.
