PlayStation 4 Will Launch With 11 Entertainment Apps

Netflix, Crunchyroll and more are coming to the next generation.

The PlayStation 4 is due in just eight days’ (!) time, and we’re thrilled to get our hands on Sony’s next generation of games. What if you want to do more than that – or rather, less, by kicking back with a TV show or movie?

Not to worry. Sony has confirmed that 11 entertainment apps will be ready to download and install in time for the system’s launch next week. These apps include Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, Crackle, Vudu, Hulu Plus, NHL GameCenter, CrunchyRoll, YuppTV, NBA Game Time, Redbox Instant, and Epix. It’s your choice which services you want to use, but they all have something to offer.

Keep in mind you’ll need memberships to interact with these apps still, but they’re certainly worth it. Ask us how many times we watched something on Netflix last week.

The PlayStation 4 hits retail shelves on November 15th.
