Warner Bros. Games’ crossover fighting game, MultiVersus, officially debuts in less than a week and fans have already been promised three new characters to join the title’s roster of playable fighters. In a three-minute launch trailer, Warner Bros. Games showcased the title’s upcoming characters and they’re all villains.

The trailer initially showcases Finn the Human and Velma from Scooby Doo fighting Bugs Bunny, when suddenly, The Joker appears. From here, the video shows additional characters fighting, proceeding to an encounter with The Joker himself. All the heroes from MultiVersus band together to fight The Joker in one last stand and then the laughing villain reveals his trump card. The Joker isn’t brawling alone and summons two other villains to join the imminent battle: Jason Voorhees and Agent Smith from The Matrix.

While the actual fighting style of these characters wasn’t highlighted, fans at least know that MultiVersus’ newest characters are The Joker from the DC Universe, Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th series, and Agent Smith from The Matrix franchise.

These new additions are quite befitting as MultiVersus has mostly introduced heroes as playable characters. Villains introduce a new dynamic that fans can enjoy and experience and plus, more fighters in any fighting game is always a great thing to have.

MultiVersus officially arrives on May 28, 2024, but in the meantime, feel free to watch the launch trailer above.
