The Mechanical Mayhem update for LEGO Fortnite added drivable cars to the survival sandbox game, allowing players to not travel around in a cobbled mess of random parts. They have to be powered in a specific way, so here is how to fuel vehicles in LEGO Fortnite.
How to Fuel Vehicles in LEGO Fortnite
Fueling vehicles in LEGO Fortnite requires building a Power Cell, which functions as the car’s battery. Power Cells cannot be found naturally in the environment and must be crafted each time.
The recipe to build one Power Cell includes 50 Biomass and six Glass through an Uncommon Crafting Bench. Biomass can be created with the Compost Bin, while Glass requires one Brightcore and two Sand in the Metal Smelter, or found in bandit camps around the world. Once built, the Power Cell will have to be manually inserted into the vehicle of choice.
How to Insert Power Cells in LEGO Fortnite
Power Cells can be inserted into vehicles by opening the Power Center and inserting the cell from the inventory. The Power Center can be located either on the back or front of the vehicle, depending on which car it is.
Power Cells will have to be replaced once completely used up, as there is currently no option to recharge or refuel your vehicle on the same Power Cell. It is important to carry multiple cells or you could be stranded if your car is out of juice.
While players have the individual parts to build a car however they please, there are three recipes that players can follow to simply build a car: Speedster, Offroader, and Hauler. All three vehicles will get you from point A to point B easily, but their power consumption differs among the cars.
The Speedster requires only one Power Cell to power up, while the Offroader will need two simultaneously. The massive Hauler will need four Power Cells at once to fuel, so it is best to stick with the Speedster for most jobs unless you have built up a surplus of cells.
