For months, consumers have asked Nintendo to drop the price of the Wii U, and the publisher finally responded. Beginning September 20, the Deluxe version will cost $299.99, down from $349.99; the package still includes Nintendoland.
In addition, Nintendo will sell a special The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD box set, also at $299.99. The package not only includes the Deluxe edition, but also a digital version of the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD. To sweeten the deal even further, the publisher will include a digital copy of The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia encyclopedia, along with a GamePad that features gold lettering, a gold Hyrule crest and gold symbols from The Wind Waker.
If you’d rather have the retail version of the game, it launches October 4, and the wait will be worth it. Not only will you score gold foil packaging, but also an exclusive Ganondorf figure, so long as you’re willing to spend $5 more at GameStop; $49.99/$54.99 with figurine.
Let us know if you plan to buy a Wii U this holiday season.
