How to Get Clay in Lightyear Frontier

Clay, my beloved...

While not made clear immediately, Clay is one of the better resources you can collect and use in Lightyear Frontier. Here’s how to get Clay in Lightyear Frontier.

How to Farm Clay in Lightyear Frontier

To get Clay in Lightyear Frontier, you’ll first want to build a Grinder. This building becomes available once you create Copper Wire in Assembler, using Copper Ore. Once you can, build a Grinder and open up its UI. Here you may see several items that can be ground up into dust. For the purposes of Clay, you’ll want to create two Stone Dust using one Stone.

Once that Stone Dust finishes, simply take it to the Assembler and select the new Clay option to build one Clay for every one Stone Dust you have. You’ll need a lot, so I suggest you start farming it up sooner rather than later.

What is Clay Used for in Lightyear Frontier?

Lightyear Frontier Furnaces

By far, the best use for Clay is to build Furnaces, a construct that will prove immensely useful as you get into the next part of the game. Furnaces can make glass, which can then later turn into items for some of the mid-game mech upgrades you may want. As someone who’s finished the story, I highly suggest you build multiple to circumvent the build times of different items.

You can also build a larger House if you don’t want the little shack you have anymore, or the Large Plot to store more plants. Everything else you can build is purely for cosmetic purposes, so unless you want to beautify your base, you shouldn’t have a reason to build any of those.
