Complete Pokemon go Giovanni Line Up in March 2024

Knowing the lineup will be important to defeat Giovanni in Pokemon Go. After all, the evil boss of Team Rocket has a few surprises up his sleeve which has changed over time. Once again, you’ll have to face three different levels of challenges if you want to defeat him entirely.

  • 1st Phase: Persian
  • 2nd Phase: Nidoking/Rhyperior/Garchomp
  • 3rd Phase: Shadow Kyogre

How to Defeat Persian in Pokemon Go?

In the first phase, Giovanni continues to use his beloved Persian, who takes a lot of damage from Fire-type attacks. As long as you don’t use any Ghost-type Pokemon, you should be good to go. Since this is just Phase 1, Persian won’t be too much of a bother.

How to Defeat Giovanni in Phase 2 in Pokemon Go?

Phase 2 will be lot more complex with three possible Pokemon, and they’re all different from each other. Here are some of the counters applicable for the three of them.

  • Nidoking: Ground, Ice, Psychic, and Water-type attacks.
  • Rhyperior: Fighting, Ground, Steel, Water, and Ice-type attacks. (Incidentally, Zarude is a pretty great counter for Rhyperior).
  • Garchomp: Dragon, Fairy, and Ice-type attacks.

How to Defeat Kyogre in Phase 3 in Pokemon Go?

This is the hardest task, but like all water-types, Kyogre is susceptible to Electric and Grass attacks. However, it’s resistant to a wide type of attacks, including Fire and Water itself, so you’ll have to be careful about which Pokemon you use against it.

Also note that Giovanni in Pokemon Go has shifting lineups. Once the Taken Over events go live on March 27, he could have a fresh team. In that case, this guide will be updated for all the new Pokemon who would be added to the lineup.
