Does Dragon’s Dogma 2 have Throwblasts? – Answered

Do the blasty boys make their return here?

Throwblasts are a throwback for anyone who jumped into the world of Dragon’s Dogma before, and it’s easy to understand why we may want them back. Can you find these items scattered throughout Dragon’s Dogma 2 world, or are they a thing of the past?

Are Throwblasts In Dragon’s Dogma 2?

For anyone hoping to take down enemies with ease by Throwblast, you’ll be disappointed to hear that they do not return to this world. For those wondering what they were missing, Throwblasts were small baggies full of explosive powder that you could throw at your enemies to cause some massive damage. While they were a great way to cheese through the early game, they lost some of their effectiveness as you progressed further into it.

While it’s a shame that these items aren’t available, there is an alternative here — exploding casks. These barrels are usually signified with a bright red band around their middles and can easily be picked up and tossed at your enemies. Sure, you can’t put them in your inventory and carry them around with you as you could with Throwblasts, but they do the same thing in the end, with honestly much more devastating results.

You’ll have a chance to test out the power of these exploding barrels during the tutorial section of the game, and you may realize that Throwblasts are not the way to go here. While it would be great to see them return at some point in the future, you can at least rest knowing that there are objects that blow up in your opponent’s faces here in the sequel.
